(ELCA) Rose Up to the Challenge in Detroit

Starting July 16th, the Evangelical Lutheran Churches of America (ELCA) started their “Rise Up” campaign where thousands of volunteers worked in many areas in Detroit. LifeBUILDERS was blessed to have nearly 1100 volunteers work on many different projects, including painting a mural on our soon-to-be community center. They even painted murals on the boards that were used to board up vacant homes. Each morning, busloads of energetic volunteers came to do God’s work in the community. Thank you ELCA for rising to the challenge and for being such a great blessing to this neighborhood. Thank you Lisa Jeffries and so many others. Also, thank you John Loudon, Mike Agrusa, Kevin Marshall and Norma Foster from LifeBUILDERS.

Who's the True "Superhero". . . Jesus is!!

Thank you to all who contributed to and prayed for the biggest LifeBUILDERS Day Camp ever. The title this year was Jesus Christ- the True Superhero. Each and every one of 80+ kids felt the love of God, from all their counselors, and our amazing volunteers. Our director, Leslie Hoek, did a fantastic job; she teaches at Ann Arbor Christian and is a member of Grace Church of Ann Arbor. She and Brooke Ballard gave these young children all they had to give during this four week period. The morning was spent with Bible stories, skits, and music. After a great lunch, the kids had spa, crafts, gym, playground, board games, science lab, nature exploration, color guard, and yoga. There was even a talent show and a field day put on by the Evangelical Lutheran Churches of America (ELCA). Needless to say, camp was a huge success! Many of these young children will be part of our youth program beginning in September. Praise the Lord!

10 Days 00 Hours and 55 Minutes Left Until LifeBuilders Day Camp!!

We are so excited for our month long day camp! Our wonderful director, Leslie Hoek, is working hard to get “Jesus Christ the True Superhero” ready for the kids. We recently bought a fun game called 9 Square in the Air that the kids will love. This will be our largest summer camp ever. We are still looking for volunteers, meals, counselors, and lots of prayer. Don’t have time to serve? Consider making a financial contribution. Call us at 313-401-5433 to be a part of this exciting camp.
