Welcome! Each morning, we will be updating this page with content from our previous sessions. Please stop back by regularly to stay engaged with us!
On Sunday morning, Larry shared about the need for quality education in our community. We have an awesome opportunity to send a number of students to a local Christian School. This partnership is a strategic and timely opportunity. Our youth director, Samantha Quick shares how important it truly is.
On Sunday evening, Aaron took us on a journey from the beginning of LifeBUILDERS. How did the ministry get to where it is today, positioned to help students get a Christian education? It all starts with a vision, but vision is more than just seeing. In this video, Larry and Marilyn, along with others, share what things looked like on Detroit's Northeast side... Regent Park.
MONDAY MORNING & EVENING
Monday morning, we talked about how Nehemiah thought when he set out to rebuild the city of Jerusalem. Nehemiah chapter 2 gives us a clear picture of his thought process:
- He thought soberly (assessing the reality of the situation)
- He thought scripturally (this is God's city, we are God's people, and this is God's work)
- He thought socially (this is not something I can do alone... let us rebuild)
- He thought sacrificially (I know this is going to cost me something)
Monday evening, we shared this video. Notice how the same line of thinking is what drives the ministry of LifeBUILDERS.
How excited we were to finally show you what we do as a ministry. But can you really sum up what we do in under five minutes? Not really... however, we are sure that you will be moved in your heart as you heart testimonies from volunteers, residents, and partners, of what God is doing in Regent Park!
HERE IT IS!!! THE MOMENT YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!
The response has been overwhelmingly pleasant this week, as we have been approached by so many interested in the work that we are doing. We couldn't wait till Thursday to introduce you to some of the parents and children that we are already working with. When you hear these stories, we're sure your heart will be moved as ours was!
EMPOWERING THE YOUTH! Do we do more than youth ministry? ABSOLUTELY, but this week is all about our education initiative which is part of our efforts to empower the youth in Regent Park. This morning, Cris Stricker shared with us some amazing testimonies of her experience working with the teen girls in Regent Park.
