2021 LifeBUILDERS Gala
At our event, we trust you saw clearly that LifeBUILDERS’ mission is making a big difference in many ways. People’s lives have been changed, hope is alive, and the whole trajectory of the neighborhood has changed. While you might like to think that the work and its impact is simply the result of a lot of hard work, there is far more to it than that. We believe in our hearts that the work was far too big for us. What has already happened in Regent Park and what is about to happen is clearly the work of God. We give God all the glory.
We look forward to 2022 as a year where we will focus our efforts on continuing to meet educational, spiritual, and emotional needs in our youth and families. We intend to do that with your help by taking a bold step into a new form of after-school programming for our children. We see it as vital for our young people that we address the distressingly low literacy rate of our children, by launching a new mentorship program for neighborhood youth and making our summer programming even more impactful.
We will continue to expand our youth employment program, and provide scholarships to Parkway Christian school for 10 additional students. The total cost to do all of this in 2022 is approximately $300,000. As you heard, we already have commitments for nearly one-third of that amount.
