WHAT. A. SUMMER.

We just came out of the most intensive programming schedule our team has ever taken on. For eight weeks, we pushed limits to deliver our #BestSummerYet! Because of your generosity, we were able to offer more camps, increased mentorship, youth employment, and expanded experiences for our young people. All glory to God!

Here is a glimpse of the transformation you helped make possible:

  • Summer Day Camp: 4 weeks of academic support, worship, and biblical teaching to over 200 kids

  • Camp Michawana: 75 campers experienced a week-long overnight camp where they grew in faith, explored nature, and built lasting bonds. Our tenth year of partnership with Michawana!

  • Teen Employment & Internship: Over 40 youth employees learned the value of hard work and leadership by serving the camp's needs under the leadership of our Summer Intern Team.

  • August Mini Camp: A joy-filled finale where kids discovered God-given talents through Art, Cooking, Science, and Sports.

  • Expanded Experiences: Our middle school junior crew attended a faith-based event at Comerica Park called Home Plate at a Tigers game in June, and are looking forward to their overnight trip to the Ark/Creation Museum in Kentucky.

But as the school bell rings, we are reminded how high the stakes are.

The momentum we built this summer cannot stop here. When school lets out, children in our neighborhood face a critical gap. Without a safe, structured environment, the seeds of faith, discipline, and community we planted over the last eight weeks are at risk.

Summer may be winding down at LifeBUILDERS, but the needs of our community are not.

 Our After-School Programming ensures that the growth your generosity sparked this summer is nurtured all year-long. Through our after-school programs, students find a safe, fun community where they can grow in faith and build friendships that matter. We cannot afford to let them step backward.
